Decent high yield savings

I opened a high-yield savings account, mainly for the bonus offer they had. The process was entirely online and pretty simple to navigate. The interest rate is competitive with other online banks, making it a good place to keep extra cash. I didn't have any issues with setting up transfers. The initial deposit requirement for the bonus was a bit higher than some competitors, but it was manageable for me. Felt like a good value for what I was looking for.

Smooth loan application experience

I applied for a personal loan to cover some home improvement costs. The online application was straightforward, asking for standard info like income verification and credit history. I appreciated that checking my rate was a soft pull, so no impact on my score. I uploaded my documents and heard back within 24 hours. The approval process was transparent, and they outlined all the terms clearly. Funding took 5 business days to hit my bank account after everything was finalized, which was within the timeframe they quoted. Customer service, when I called to ask about the funding status, was helpful and I didn't have to wait long. The overall experience was professional and less stressful than I anticipated.

Quick funds, good rate

Needed a medical loan fast. LendingClub offered a good rate. Application was quick, funds arrived in my account in 3 days. No complaints.

Reliable for banking needs

This isn't my first time with LendingClub. I've had a high-yield savings account with them for over a year, and recently opened a rewards checking account too. Their rates have stayed pretty consistent, which is why I keep coming back. Transfers between accounts are quick. Compared to my first experience, opening the checking account was even faster. I appreciate the reliability; I know what to expect.

Good for debt consolidation

I used LendingClub for a debt consolidation loan a few months ago. The application process online was pretty smooth and checking my rate didn't ding my credit which was good. The interest rate I got wasn't the absolute lowest I'd seen, but it was competitive enough to make a difference with my credit card payments. Funding took about 4 days after approval, which felt a little long, but it got the job done. The mobile app is decent for tracking payments, but sometimes it's a bit slow to load. Overall, it's a solid option if you need to simplify your debts.

Thinking about getting one of their personal loans for some home reno. How fast do they actually fund the loan once approved? Like, a week? More?

S Steve Beaumont 1 month ago
From my experience, once approved, it's pretty quick. Usually within a few business days the money was in my account. Way faster than a traditional bank.

Yeah, I think it says on their site it's usually like 2-3 business days after final approval. Mine was pretty much that fast.

So, is LendingClub actually a bank now or still more like a peer-to-peer thing? Confused about what happened there.

S Shane 4 weeks ago
They became a full-fledged digital bank a few years ago. They acquired a bank, so it's not the old P2P model anymore. They offer checking, savings, loans, all that.

Yeah, P2P is mostly gone. They're a bank now, kinda like Ally or something, but with personal loans as a big focus.

Can you pay off a personal loan early without getting hit with some extra fees? Trying to pay it down fast.

N Nick 1 month ago
No prepayment penalties! That's one of the good things about them. You can pay it off whenever you want without extra charges.

What kind of credit score do you usually need to even get approved for a personal loan here? Is it pretty high?

C Chris 1 month ago
I think they typically look for mid-600s and up, but it really varies with your income and debt-to-income ratio too. It's not just the score.

I got approved with a score in the high 600s a couple years back. If your score is like, below 600, it might be tough. But worth checking if you're close.

hey, anyone know if getting a rate check for a loan dings your credit score? trying to compare options and don't want a hard inquiry just yet.

N Neil Marsh 3 weeks ago
Nah, it's a soft pull to just check your rate. Doesn't hit your score. They only do a hard inquiry if you actually apply for the loan.

Can confirm, I did it last month. My score was fine after checking the rates. Just like comparing car insurance quotes.
